All told, a good weekend.

So this weekend was destined to be a relaxing one and naturally I filled it up with stuff to do… with or without my own consent.

Friday initiated the early bird special. Ryann and I went to Caraba’s around 5:30pm and had a great meal with some killer service, complements of my not-so-little anymore sister. She had a chicken pasta and I had too much beef. It was kindofa roast style… very good. Dinner was done about 6:30 and we were off to the movies. What Happens in Vegas to be exact. It was great. While the reviews weren’t all that, as always, the movie was awesome. Why is it that any movie trashed by the critics is totally worth watching? Rule of thumb, if it’s funny and you don’t have to think too much about it, they hate it… because that’s their job. The rest of us go to the movies to escape work. I’m not really big on heavy thought movies.
The movie was over before nine and we went home… that’s right America, your party boy went to the house before 9:00pm on a Friday. It was nice.

Saturday morning I was up early for a drive across the region. 30 miles to Prairie Grove to get my build on with Scott. He’s working on a new sterio install and needed a little help getting the speaker box and amp rack together. It was kind of cool. I haven’t done anything like that since High School. We got the bulk of the build done and I had to make a run to Farmington to judge the 3rd annual Farmington Highschool Battle of the Bands.

I have to admit, I was impressed. These kids have some tallent. The first band was called the Blacktop Boys. Not to be confused with the Backstreet Boys, these kids have a sound and style that is catching. They played some Beatles covers and their origional stuff had a real sixties groove vibe. Very cool. The others were, for the most part, great. One band had lots of cools stuff but they really didn’t look like theyd wanted to be there. After the show it was a solo barbeque dinner and back to Prairie Grove to finish up that speaker box. Ahh, closing a very busy day with cold beer and carpet glue in the air. This is the life.

I woke up this morning around 7:30am at Scotts and headed back home. Now I’m killing time until the cookout at Ryann’s new house. All told, a great weekend…
